John Pole awarded Life Membership

I was very pleased to nominate John Pole for life membership of the Dalkeith Nedlands Bowling Club and for the unanimous endorsement by the executive committee and the general membership at the AGM.

John joined our club in 2010 and has been a constant presence with our bowling activities since then. He has been a regular member of pennant teams more recently as a successful skipper with our second side. He has regularly competed in club championships and has been successful in the club fours, once as skipper. He regularly supports our social bowls programme.

Poley was involved in the introduction of the computer to the club and the inaugural website.

The massive contribution to our club for which he is most recognised was his takeover of cleaning responsibility in 2012 continuing for fourteen years until his recent retirement this month; saving the club a serious amount of money over the years. He was able to encourage others to volunteer and contribute to the cleaning process which enhanced the club in many ways.

We are delighted that his efforts will be remembered in perpetuity by being added to the list of life members.
