Men’s Championship Fours results

The Men’s Club 4s Championship generously sponsored by John and Wendy O’Meehan was completed yesterday afternoon.

The Championship (shown above) was won by John Shaw, Pat Clohessy, John O’Meehan and Alek Gryta by a margin of 8 shots over Alan Davidson, George Klug, Lindsay Richardson and Marty Saunders. Getting out to an early lead in the first 5 shots end proved to be the difference between the two teams at the end of the day.

The winners of the Plate (below) were Ron Stapleton, Gordon Wilson, David Fitzgerald and Darren Redeckis. In a close encounter, with many tight heads for 16 of the 18 ends, they prevailed over Jeff Irwin, Rob Kelly, Ian Day and John Pole, 19 shots to 11. It is very encouraging for the future of the club to see novice bowlers reaching the finals of championship events.
