Wendy O’Meehan awarded Life Membership

It is most rewarding to see Wendy O’Meeham awarded Life Membership of our wonderful Club.

Over the decades both John and Wendy have been members, they have given countless hours of voluntary service and sponsored many championships and events.

Wendy worked tirelessly as a team member in the kitchen for numerous years catering for various events, including the Men’s Spring 4’s during their most popular years with many country clubs participating and a heavy demand for meals and refreshments.

For three years, 2014-2017 Wendy was Ladies Captain. This era coincided with the early amalgamation of the men and women’s bowls sections. Without her support and encouragement the transition would have been a more difficult process.

Amongst the various areas where Wendy has been involved, are four years on the ladies pennant selection committee with Gwenda McIntosh and to this day she is willing to contribute in any capacity.

It is fitting that both John and Wendy are honoured together, as they are a team and strongly support each other to the benefit of the Club.
